Astronauts, cosmonauts, terranauts… but psyhonauts, what’s that? As a Psyhonauts you explore peoples minds and use all kind of mind control. And for Razputin, a young Psyhonauts trainee you are at the Psychnauts official training camp. But something is strange in the camp, kids brains are missing and teachers vanish and acting strange. And its up to Razputin to go to the bottom of this strange phenomenal.
Psyconauts are a classic platform-arcade game but Let us first get one thing straight, Psychonauts on PC is a horrible console port. The controls are bad and the camera view is even worse.
Psyconauts have great game design, all minds are different from each other and reflex the persons mind character. The enemies are a persons inner enemies that you have to battle. All stages have an end boss, often you have to be clever to find the way how to defeat the boss. Truth be told im stuck in the game, not because i cant defeat a boss but i need a gadget to remove something from a door to proceed. And to get this gadget i need 800 arrowheads (currency in Psyhonauts) and now i need to grind for money, and grinding are NOT a part of the platform genre, you grind in MMO ffs! And i don’t want to spend 1-2 hours just to find money to buy this stupid thingy. I want to continue the game but i haven’t the patients to grind for money.
Since Psyconauts are for the last generations game console (Xbox, PS2) the graphic is outdated, but still this is a game full with fantasy and its fun to see when games are different from the masses. I give this game an Avrage-tag, horrible controls, grinding and camera view makes the downfall for the game. Especially this type of game you need good controls and camera view to fully enjoy the games.
